Oak Bluff on Green Mountain is a naturalist’s dream.
The Oak Bluff community includes two large common areas or parks on top of the mountain, totaling approximately 2 acres, to be enjoyed by all Oak Bluff residents. Both of these common areas are Wildlife Refuges Certified by the National Wildlife Federation.
Indigenous wildlife abounds including deer, turtles, owls, wood ducks, and an occasional wild turkey. These creatures roam the undeveloped Oak Bluff preserves and common areas, and move freely up the bluff from hundreds of acres of protected and undeveloped land on the slopes of Green Mountain below.
In addition to these common areas, a City of Huntsville greenway passes below the bluff through densely wooded forest land. A hiking trail follows a natural run-off stream connecting the Oak Bluff community at the top of Green Mountain to the large greenspace below the bluff, and there ties into the City of Huntsville greenway system. This first trail is called Buzzard Falls and you can read a review of this trail here. Oak Bluff Trail leads from the end of the cul-de-sac and travels along the scenic bluff, eventually connecting up to Alum Hollow Trail in the LandTrust preserve.
Finally, Oak Bluff adjoins large tracts of protected land belonging to The Land Trust of North Alabama, which are immediately to the south and east of the Oak Bluff community.
Oak Bluff on Green Mountain incorporates underground utilities, curb and gutter streets, decorative street lamps and a meandering network and trails connecting the community with the common areas and trails on adjacent preserved properties. The community is connected to both Comcast and AT&T’s advanced U-verse fiber optic network, providing ultra-high speed digital access for phone, Internet and TV. The trails and common areas are maintained by the Oak Bluff Homeowners Association.
Each Home Owner has the option to join the neighboring community Lodge on Green Mountain. Access to a beautiful club house, swimming pool, tennis, fitness center, playground and more!
One of the most important amenities at Oak Bluff is the proximity to hundreds of acres of undeveloped, protected land, including Land Trust preserves which adjoin Oak Bluff’s wooded sanctuary. In order to ensure development is harmonious with the natural setting of Green Mountain, and to protect property values, homes built in Oak Bluff are subject to architectural review and other covenants or restrictions.
